Wortley v Tingley Sunday 25th October Update
By Ann Housecroft on Oct 19, 2009 with Comments 0
A very understrength laydeez took a lil trip down the road to visit Wortley, (who we previously beat in the cup). With part of the midfield duo of Amy missing and Loz who was awol, the remainder of the team would have thier work cut out. The laydeez started well scoring the first goal, but Wortley quickly equalised. This went on for most of the afternoon, until disaster struck and Simone had to leave the field early, leaving us with 9 players. A dodgy free kick was awarded to Wortley who managed to edge in front. The final score 6-5 to Wortley. Had I been the manager of the winning team, this is not a performance I would have been happy with, a team with 10 players managing to give a team with 12 players a run for their money. The laydeez were by far the more skilful team and didn’t deserve to be robbed in the last minutes of this game. Thanks to all the girls who played under extreme circumstances today, you were all stars.
POTM – TBA HOTM – Emily (who nearly put one of our players out of the game before we had even got on the field!!!)
TTFN my lil amazons x
