In driving rain and gale force winds the under 8,s took on a Hunslet side with 3 players from Burnleys academy team .after a close first half the game was scoreless, with both teams defences on top. After the break a superb strike with the wind from a Hunslet player finally beat our keeper Euan Haigh ,however after another fine passing move our boys equalised through Daniel Cowell after a fine through ball from Bradley Frost that takes midfielder Dan to top of the scoring chart with 3 so far this season . ,Blaine Buxton then hit the foot of the post with a screamer and a fine move from a corner saw the Hunslet keeper make a fine reflex save from Bradley Frost the same player lobbed the keeper only for it to catch the wind and hit the bar !! .with a minute remaining there looked to be only one winner when a hopefull punt upfield caught the wind and blew past our stranded keeper Euan ,add to this a certain goal turned down as the Hunslet player had injured his hand stopping our forward going on to score !!! Alas it wasnt our day but by far away our best performance of the season .Unite Man of the match was Bradley Frost, and Unite Most improved player was Blaine Buxton ,however the defence of Brandon Megson and George Thorton and again the tireless tackling and excellent passing of Daniel Cowell and Blaine Buxton ran Bradley close for the mom trophy ,next week another tough game against Glen Juniors 1030 ko .
