Rothwell Town v Tingley -Match Report

Tingley headed over to near neighbours Rothwell Town (tho some people Sue Wightman went to Oulton cos they don’t read the directions!!!) for our penultimate game of the season.  With loads of the squad missing due to work and other commitments, because of this season dragging on, we had to make do with 9 players, but hey after this season that wasn’t a surprise. Vince was on league duty, so it was down to Amy to sort the team out via text message!!  and wearing the famous pink kit for the last time this season (tho Liu for some bizarre reason turned up in pink trousers).  Rothwell ladies finally emerged from the dressing room and we were told they had been on the lash til the early hours thanks to thier presentation night.  The game started and Tingley were desparate to get a few goals under their belt in the first half.  With Liu having some good runs she was sadly marked out of the game with 2 defenders on her.  Nikki who on seeing the opposition ran towards the toilets leaving us with 8 players, still we didn’t need her!!  Brownie who was able to deftly move past the Rothwell players leaving them all gasping on her dust saw a chance and blasted our first past the town keeper.  Nikki sauntering back from the loos can’t have been on the pitch for 2 minutes when bang she got our second.  Sadly due to trying to barge a Rothwell player off the ball Nik came a cropper and ended up spending most of the match hobbling up and down the sidelines!!  Rothwell were quick to take advantage of the tiring laydeez and quickly got 2 goals to bring them level.  The first half ended 2 all.   Second half started with Rothwell bringing on super sub, who blocked most of our midfield.  Due to having fresh legs, tingley were struggling to keep up and Rothwell got 2 goals in quick succession.  A bit of a bad tackle saw Capn Amy landing badly on the field.  The ref who really couldn’t care less conceded she couldn’t have been that bad cos she got up quickly and failed to book the Town player or even talk to her!!!  Obv his day job is working at a hospital as a top doc….NOT! Amy in her usual style struggled on thru sheer anger and barged into tackles willy nilly.  Though not enough to stop Rothwell getting another goal.  Amy eventually had to come off due to blacking out and suffering concussion (thanks ref!!)We hadn’t banked on Brownie tho,  who shot her way down the wing leaving em huffing and puffing to net us the third.  During all this Em somehow tripped a player over and was given a yellow card, this was all Ems own fault as we know the ref was a thoroughly decent chap and had given Rothwell numberous chances when they handballed and stood on the pitch to take a throw in, but hey ho naughty Em!!!  Tingley fired up now fought their way back and with Jade, Em and TB making great runs to get the ball up to Liu.  Eventually Liu managed to shake off her two minders to net us our 4th.  Tingley were truly back in the game.  Rothwell were making a last effort to get a decider and were heading towards Soy who got the ball away straight to the Town attack, thankfully Simone was there to save the day, but she did take a slight knock, like the trooper she is she carried on.  Tingley were all out now to get the equaliser, leaving only Soy and Simone at the back the others pushed towards the town goalie, finding Liu who snaked her way thru to get us the equaliser.  With minutes to go they held on until the final whistle to get a very respectable draw.  Many thanks to Amy, Em, Brownie, Jade, Liu, Nik, Simone, Soy and TB for playing you were immense.                                                                                                                  Our final game of the season is next Sunday at home.

Finally just to let you know Amy ended up in hospital having a CT scan, but she is expected to make a full recovery, tho if she pretends she doesn’t know you it’s probably due to her age more than anything.  Nikki is receiving some TLC from her mummy and is expected back at Morrisons on Wednesday.  We are having a whip round to pay for Ems yellow card, even tho she states her name is ‘not number 15′

Star of the day – Lucas (for his concern over big sis Simone) hope u r ok!

Chump of the day – The ref for giving our Em a yellow!!!
