No show from U11 Boys

What a difference a week can make in football. After last week’s terrific performance in smashing the 100% winning record of league leaders Garforth Rangers, Tingley came up against another team with a 100% record. Local rivals Woodkirk Valley Wolves had not won a game all season and were bottom of the league, but Tingley failed to repeat their heroics of a week earlier and deservedly lost after a poor performance. When they took the lead through a great strike from Jocky Foggin it looked promising, but Woodkirk came back to level the scores at half time. Tingley took the lead for a second time when Lochlan Robinson fired home, but Woodkirk showed more fight and determination all round and came back with 3 further goals to win 4-2. There were poor performances all over the pitch from Tingley – the only player emerging with any credit was keeper George Ioannou who made some terrific saves to keep the scoreline lower than it could have been and took the man-of-the-match award for the second week running. It was a very disappointing result, especially against our old rivals, and we will be looking for a much improved performance in our next game.
