Kierien Gillen sadly passes away …
By Dawn on Feb 16, 2010 with Comments 3
It is with great sadness that I inform you of the sudden and untimely death of Kierien Gillen on Sunday 14th February 2010. Kierien was the driving force behind securing the funding required to turn Tingley JFC’s dream of their own ground into the reality that is the wonderful facility we now have at the Crescent. All three of Kierien’s children Aidan, Ryan and Lauren have or still play for Tingley. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sharon and their children at this time.
As a mark of respect and acknowledgment of Kieran’s contribution to football black armbands will be worn by all Home players and a minutes applause will be held before all games played at the Crescent this weekend.
Kierien’s Funeral will take place at St Francis RC Church Morley at 11.20am on the Thursday 25th February followed by a service at Cottingley Crematorium at 12.20
