Tingley Athletic u16 v  Kirkburton u 16.       18/3/12.  ko  2.00pm

Today saw Tingley u16’s  welcome  Kirkburton u16’s to the Crescent  looking to keep their Top spot in tact and extend their winning run to 14 consecutive games.

Tingley started confidently winning an early corner, where Bano rose well to get a clean header on target   which was cleared off the line, but the good early pressure paid off inside  ten minutes, after a good passage of play created space for  Beddy  to lob the keeper from the edge of the box to give Tingley an early lead. 1-0.

And not long after it was 2-0  after a quick break down the left and a ball through to Jack who broke clear into the area and finished superbly into the top corner giving the Kirkburton keeper no chance. 2-0.

Tingley were really dictating the play now and Kirkburton were chasing shadows and just couldn’t get to grips with the swift passing and movement from Tingley, and sure enough Tingley struck again when the ball was played into the box and the keeper wasn’t quick enough to collect the ball and Joe D was there to finish from 6yds to make it 3-0.

When Kirkburton did manage an attacking move Jamie was quickly off his line to make a great  save .

Tingley looked like they could score every time they went on the offensive , and they did so again when Bran found space to finish well for Tingleys fourth goal. 4-0.

Tingley were looking composed now and were playing the free flowing football we have come to expect, and Kirkburton just couldn’t  cope with it and were finding it hard to get out of their own half, and after one of Edens trade mark long throw ins allowed Deano to run through on goal and smash the ball past the keeper for Tingleys fifth goal, it was looking like it could be a cricket score. 5-0.

And just before halftime it got even worse for Kirkburton  when Beddy played a great ball into the box for Deano to pop up in the 6 yard box and score his second goal in 5 minutes and Tingleys sixth. 6-0.

Half time .  6-0.

Tingley started the second half brightly despite being 6-0 up and forced two early corners, and Dan had a good chance but the keeper was out quickly to gather the ball.

Tingley were really in control again in this half and were forcing Kirkburton deeper and deeper into their own half, which gave Tingley the time and space to knock the ball around, and create chances,  but Tingley seemed to take their foot off the gas in the second half and they  seemed to lose that cutting edge as the game wore on, but were still in total control.

Joe D made a great run into the box to force a corner which was cleared out as for as Bano who hit a good shot just over the top.

Bran did well to find Joe D on the edge of the box  and he made no mistake to score his second of the game and Tingleys seventh.  7-0.

And shortly after Joe D bagged his hat trick  with a superb strike from 25 yards which found the bottom corner to make it 8-0.

Tingley were awarded a free kick 25 yards out when Achim was crudely brought down, but this time Joe D  had his shot blocked.

Joe B battled well to force another corner, which  was cleared, and shortly after he was unlucky not to score when  he was in space inside the area  but the keeper made a good block, and  that was the last action with Tingley running out as worthy winners.

Full Time   Tingley 8- kirkburton 0.

This was a very accomplished and composed performance by Tingley who controlled the game from start to finish and that makes it 14 wins on the bounce, and keeps them 3 points clear at the top.

Today’s Man of the Match  award goes to ACHIM for a hardworking and very composed performance.
